"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2:14-17
Today, live a life of faith by reaching out.
The words of a favorite Keith Green song ring in my mind today.
“Cause He brings people to your door,
And you turn them away
As you smile and say,
"God bless you, be at peace"
And all heaven just weeps
Cause Jesus came to your door
You've left him out on the streets”
("Asleep in the Light" Keith Green)
Every single day, God brings someone to us.
Are we willing to lay aside our agendas, our plans and our comforts to meet people right where they are?
Heavenly Father, I see the needs, I hear the cries. I trust You to give me exactly what I need this day to be Your heart, Your hands and Your feet to my own family and to others you send my way.
